Tems Makes History With Grammy Award Win (See Full Winners and Photos)

Source The Ghana Report

Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi, known professionally as Tems in the entertainment industry, has made history as she becomes the third Nigerian female to win an award at the annual global Grammy Awards.

Her honour comes after Sade Adu and Jenn Nkiru were all honoured in 1993, 2001, 2010 and 2021 for their impact.

At the 65th edition of the Grammy Awards, Tems emerged as a winner under the Best Melodic Rap performance with a song titled, Wait For U featuring Drake.

Another Nigerian musician nominated for this year’s Grammy Award was Burna Boy, but unfortunately, he was not awarded under any category.

Tems has composed several songs like Free Mind, Crazy Tings, Replay, Try Me, Avoid Things, and Wait For U.

In 2022, Tems was one of the female artistes billed to perform at the Global Citizens Festival held in Accra, Ghana, and through her music, exhibited real talent and positive vibes.
