The Uber driver who made allegations against the police in a viral video has been ordered by the Achimota District Court to seek a medical examination.

The driver, Patrick Asiedu, who claimed to be a doctor in the video, alleged that the police had deliberately planted drugs in his vehicle.

He painted a vivid picture of his alleged encounter with four police officers and accused them of planting wee and cocaine in his vehicle in a bid to extort money from him.

The suspect said he was only exonerated after his brother, a soldier, came to his rescue and after a fingerprint test.

But police investigations revealed that the story narrated in the audio tape is false and a total fabrication by the suspect.

“The supposed military intervention and the alleged fight between the police officers and the military described in such dramatic detail in the audio tape are all false and a figment of the suspect’s imagination,” a police statement said.

Asiedu was again remanded in police custody when he appeared before the court presided by His Worship Prince Owusu.

He is expected to reappear on February 14.
