The family of murdered Tiger Eye Private Investigative journalist, Ahmed Hussein-Suale, says they are distressed about the lack of information from the Police.

According to Ibrahim Tahidu, the brother of the Hussein-Suale, the lack of information about the status of investigations has the tendency to portray journalism in Ghana as a very dangerous task.

“There is no communication flow. Sometimes getting information from Police is difficult… We cannot say they (the Police) are not working, but it is not as expected,” Mr Tahidu said in an interview monitored on Joy FM.

“Justice must quickly follow and this is totally sitting on the rights of journalists. Indirectly, we are killing journalism in our country. If you’re being killed for doing your job and no action is taken how would others feel about the job?” he said.

Background

Ahmed was shot three times, twice in the chest and another in the neck on Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at Madina in Accra while driving home by unidentified men riding a motorbike.
