Ghanaian dancehall artiste, Charles Nii Armah Mensah, popularly known in the entertainment industry as Shatta Wale, is the latest artiste to join Boomplay’s Golden Club of Africa’s largest music streaming and download platform.
Shatta Wale becomes the third Ghanaian to join the esteemed Golden Club after Black Sherif and Sarkodie joined last year (2022).
The Dancehall King joins Boomplay’s Golden Club with a milestone of 100 million streams.
Other African musicians on Boomplay Golden Club are Burna Boy, Wizkid, Davido, Diamond Platinumz, Fireboy DML, Rayvanny, Omah Lay and more.
Formerly known as Bandana, Shatta Wale emerged on the Ghanaian music scene in 2004 with the hit record, ‘Moko Hoo’ after which he disappeared from the music industry.
Shatta Wale returned to the entertainment industry in 2012 after which he has been able to maintain his brand till now.
Since then, the Dancehall King hitmaker has composed a lot of songs like “My Level”, “Ayoo”, “On God”, and “JJC”, among others and has collaborated with Beyonce on the “Lion King” album.
Shatta Wale is gearing up to release his “Gift of God” album after two years of building fans’ anticipation. Shatta Wale was the second most streamed male artist in Ghana during Boomplay’s 2022 Recap.
