Hearts of Oak head coach Slavko Matic returns to Serbia for medical attention

Hearts of Oak head coach, Slavko Matic has returned to his native country Serbia, to seek medical attention, that’s according to the club.

The Serbian Trainer is able to travel to his country because Hearts have had their next BetPawa Premier League match which was scheduled for this weekend, postponed due to their inability to raise a team for a matchday 11 fixture against Tamale City.

This is due to the unavailability of a number of players who are either injured or on international duty with the Black Galaxies in Algeria for the 2022 African Nations Championship (CHAN).

Daniel Afriyie Barnieh, Suraj Seidu, Gladson Awako, Konadu Yiadom and Dennis Korsah have all been called up by Black Galaxies head coach, Annor Walker for the competition, while the likes of Zakaria Yakubu and Samuel Inkoom are injured.

The 46-year-old, who replaced Samuel Boadu at the club has supervised 8 games as head coach since his arrival and has won five, drawn two and lost one in all competitions.

Matic is expected to return in time to take charge of Hearts of Oak’s next match on January 12 against King Faisal.

In his absence, his assistant David Ocloo will take interim charge of the team.
