Minister of Trade and Industry (MoTI) Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen has assured the public that the government will take every measure necessary to reverse the fortunes of Ghana’s dwindling economy.

Mr Kyerematen made this known during the annual Gbidukor Festival of the Gbi Traditional Area in the Volta Region last Friday.

He emphasized that the government was very much aware of the current economic hardship of Ghanaians.

According to him, “the government is relentless in its efforts to turn things around so we can all enjoy the good times again.”

He also explained the current economic woes due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the Ukraine-Russia war.

Notwithstanding, the Trade and Industry Minister highlighted the essence of the One-District-One-Factory project (1D1F) by the government.

He admonished the members of the Gbi Traditional Area to support the 1D1F policy.

He commended the paramount chief of the Gbi Traditional Area, Togbega Gabusu VII, for working effectively with his traditional leaders to bring development, peace and harmony to the area.

“While l congratulate Togbega, the regional minister, and other ministers of state and Members of Parliament of the region for their relentless efforts to bring development to the area, l assure you that government is very much in tune with the current hardships facing all of us, and is relentless in its efforts to turn things around so we can all enjoy the good times again,” he noted.

He indicated that the annual festival celebrated in the area has always brought unity among the people.

“The recent love and affection from natives of the Volta Region is a confirmation of the known love affair between the two of us,” he stated.

Mr Kyerematen was accompanied to the festival by some politicians, including John Peter Amewu, Minister of Railways Development and MP for Hohoe; Asante Boateng, MP for Asante Akyem South; Dr Kissi Adomako, MP for Anyaa Sowotuom; and Davis Opoku Ansah, MP for Mpraeso.
