The exercise will engage close to 13, 000 NABCO personnel.

“Ghana post GPS will engage the media before the 8th of August, 2019 to throw more light on how the segregation is going to be done,” an official told The Ghana Report in an interview following the initial announcement by Mrubarak Bowan.

Mr. Bowan suggested the exercise will cover 254 assemblies in the country with each assembly receiving a minimum of 50 NABCO personnel comprising of 25 groups with two personnel each in a group to cover 630 households.

DPAS was first introduced in 2017 by President Akufo-Addo as part of a campaign promise to modernize and formalize the Ghanaian economy.

In order to modernize and formalize, the President indicated his government had begun 3 initiatives – the launch of the Ghana card, the National Digital Property Addressing System and the launch of the Inter-operable Electronic Platform for the Payment of goods and services and electronic transfers across the country.

According to the President, the DPAS when fully operational will help in revenue generation, identification of locations for emergency service delivery as well as facilitate smooth business transactions while providing an effective means of addressing every location and property to facilitate the implementation of key government policies and business transactions.
