An ambulance belonging to the Sefwi Bodi District has knocked a 40-year-old man in the Sefwi Wiawso Municipality.
The ambulance, with the registration number GV 21-20, was travelling from the Sefwi Bekwai direction to Sefwi Bodi in the Western Region.
Kwasi Asiamah, the victim, was crossing the road in the opposite direction at the same moment.
The ambulance knocked him down, killing him on the spot.
One of the eyewitnesses who narrated the incident to the media said, “we heard the ambulance’s sirene blurring.”
“We later heard a loud bang, and we ran out to see what happened. At the scene, we found that his head had been smashed,” the lady narrated.
The body has since been deposited at the Wiawso Government Hospital morgue by the Sefwi Wiawso Police Command.
Meanwhile, the Ghana Ambulance Service and the police are yet to make any statements on the accident.
