The Member of Parliament (MP) for Oda, Alexander Akwasi Acquah, together with some Executives like the Birim Central Municipal Coordinating Director, Haruna Amadu; the Oda constituency executive of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and staff of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) visited the disaster victims and verified the extent of damage.

The Member of Parliament also served the victims with breakfast and pledged his continued support for them till the situation normalizes.
The Hon. Alexander Akwasi Acquah and his entourage were taken across the affected flood areas by the Oda Zongo Chief, Alhaji Sulemana Adamu, and the Assembly Member for the Kyeremim Number Two Electoral Area, Nuhu Ayara.
Addressing the most affected victims of the disaster at Oda Zongo, Mr Acquah assured them of the government’s preparedness to repair their damaged buildings.
The MP attributed the flooding of the area to the Birim River which overflowed its banks as a result of the many days of continuous rainfall. He advised them not to be dumping refuse into gutters since the act constricts or blocks the drainage system.
