This initiative terminates the one-month waiting period for all National Health Insurance Scheme(NHIS) subscribers aged 70 years and above.
In a statement on Tuesday, 27th September 2022, NHIA stated that from 6 pm on Monday, 26th September 2022, all aged 70 years and above who sign up for the scheme could visit accredited NHIS hospitals, and all their health needs will be taken care of.
Since its inception, the National Health Insurance Scheme came with a compulsory one-month waiting period for all who signed up for the scheme, with reservations and exceptions for only pregnant women and children under five years.
