Tema community 4 residents battle MP over toilet

Residents of Tema Community four are bracing for the worse, over attempts by the Member of Parliament for the area, Kofi Brako to erect a public toilet at the Community 4 car park.

The MP who has on numerous occasions sent men to start work on the project were stopped after being confronted by the Concerned Citizens of Tema Community Four.

The Member of Parliament who responded to text messages from The Ghana Report admitted he was the one behind the infamous project, stating that the site had already been earmarked for a lavatory facility by the Tema Development Corporation.

Among a litany of issues, the residents accused the MP of doing nothing to improve their living conditions after winning convincingly in 2016 elections.

They further alleged that he is yet to make any meaningful impact in the house of legislature, a reason they are threatening to vote against him in next year’s elections.

When confronted with visual evidence of the fierce resistance by residents, the MP said the decision remains popular among most residents but he was determined to oversee the implementation of the project.

The Tema metropolis which is home to over 400,000 residents has been faced with serious nuisance following damage to its overaged sewer systems.

The Ghana Report will keep readers updated on this developing story.
