Ghana winger Kamaldeen Sulemana set to make injury return in May
Ghana international Kamaldeen Sulemana is set to return to action in May after being sidelined since February with a back injury.
Rennes are confident of having their winger back before the end of the season on May 21.
They expect him to recover from his injury by May 4 and play in their final three games.
Sulemana last appeared for Rennes against PSG as a substitute in the final minutes of a 1-0 loss at Le Parc des Princes.
“Kamaldeen (Sulemana) we are still waiting. He underwent an infiltration, we had to wait three weeks, I believe that we will be ten days away, there are still a fortnight before waiting for the verdict.
“We will therefore have to wait until May 4 at least to find out more,” Rennes coach Bruno Génésio said.
Sulemana has scored four goals in 20 Ligue 1 games for Stade Rennais since joining from FC Nordsjaelland.
The injury forced Sulemana to miss the Black Stars’ victory against Nigeria in the 2022 FIFA World Cup playoffs in late March.
Meanwhile, the transfer value of the 20-year-old has skyrocketed.
