Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey has won Arsenal’s Player of the Month award for February.
This is the first time the former Atletico Madrid man has won the award since joining the Gunners in October 2020.
In the month of February, the Black Stars midfielder played a very important role for the English Premier League club as the team managed to amass crucial points.
Particularly in games against Brentford and Wolverhampton Wanderers, Thomas Partey excelled in midfield for Arsenal and was praised for his display in games that ended in crucial wins to boost their chances of finishing in the top four as they currently occupy the fourth spot.
The 28-year-old won with 49 per cent of the vote, narrowly edging out Martin Odegaard, with Bukayo Saka in third.
The incredible form of the assistant captain of the Black Stars is good news for Ghana ahead of the 2022 World Cup play-off against Nigeria.
He is expected to captain the team in the absence of skipper Andre Ayew who is suspended after picking a straight red card in Black Stars’ last game at the Afcon against Comoros.
