2022 WC Qualifiers: Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac names squad for Ethiopia, South Africa clash
Head coach of the Black Stars, Milovan Rajevac, has named a 28-man squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers this month.
The Black Stars, currently second on the standings in Group G, will face Ethiopia in the penultimate game at the Orlando stadium in Johannesburg on Thursday, November 11, 2021, before hosting South Africa in the final group game three days later.
The Serbian trainer’s list of 28 consists of four goalkeepers, nine defenders, six midfielders, five wingers and four strikers who are tasked to qualify the nation to next year’s World tournament to be hosted by Qatar.
Among the invited players are four home-based players, namely Richard Attah (Hearts of Oak), Philemon Baffour (Dreams FC), Ismail Ganiyu (Asante Kotoko) and Fatawu Issahaku (Dreams FC).
Also, AS Roma youngster Felix Ohene Afena-Gyan and Sheriff Tiraspol’s Edmund Addo have been handed their maiden senior call ups to the national team while veteran midfielder Mubarak Wakaso and striker Richmond Boakye Yiadom make a return.
