Funny Face arrested for threatening violence on social media
The Ghana Police Service announced on the night of Monday, October 19 that an arrest has been made of Benson Nana Yaw Oduro Boateng, popularly known as Funny Face, for allegedly threatening some people on social media.
According to the police, due to the highly publicised mental health history of the actor, comedian and musician, the service will “submit him to the court for an order for [a] psychiatric examination to determine the next line of investigative action.”
In the said broadcast on social media, Funny Face threatened to commit suicide after killing the mother of his twin daughters who is no longer with him.
The court also extended his stay at the mental health facility when the doctor attending to the actor recommended that he needed some more time to go through treatment.
The comedian was in court after the police arrested him in Kasoa for unlawfully discharging a firearm at a drinking pub.
According to the Central Regional Police PRO, DSP Irene Serwaa Oppong, Funny Face had been reported for causing a disturbance in a pub.
