60 Archbishop Porter girls recovering after food poisoning – Headmistress
The Headmistress of Archbishop Porter Girls’ Senior High School in Sekondi in the Western Region Charlotte Aseidu Musa has assured parents and guardians that the case of food poisoning that hit the school Thursday, March 28, is under control.
Speaking to GBC, Twin City Radio News in Sekondi, she said most of the students who were affected have been treated and discharged.
Background:
Over 60 students of Archbishop Porter Girls’ Senior High School in Takoradi in the Western Region were admitted at the Holy Child Hospital over food poisoning.
Radio Ghana News in Sekondi gathered that the case began last night when a cross section of students started complained of stomach pains whiles some had diarrhea.
Situation under control:
The Headmistress of the school, Mrs Charlotte Musa confirmed the food poisoning incident to Empire News but again reiterated that the situation is under control.
Medical Superintendent for hospital, Holy Child Hospital at Fijai , Sylvester Fameye who confirmed that it was a case of food poisoning added that the situation has overwhelmed the facility and that some logistics are being mobilized to move into the school to attend to more others.
