Vice President Bawumia loses mother
The mother of Ghana’s Vice-President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Hajia Mariama Bawumia has passed away, according to a message posted on the vice-president’s Facebook account.
“It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of my beloved mother Hajia Mariama Bawumia,” the post read.
“Hajia Mariama passed away peacefully this morning [Monday, September 13 in Accra. Burial is scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday September 14, 2021 in Walewale,” the message continued.
Madam Bawumia would have been 82 on September 15. She was an old student of Wesley Girls Senior High School.
She was one of the wives of Alhaji Mumuni Bawumia, with whom she had the vice-president who was second of her five children.
