Bawumia donates $10,000 to supports Hasaacas Ladies
Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has donated a cash sum of $10,000 to Ghana’s representatives in the maiden edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League, Hasaacas Ladies.
The gesture comes after the Sekondi-based club launched a public appeal for financial support ahead of the qualifiers expected to commence in Cote D’Ivoire this weekend.
The money was presented on behalf of the President by his aide, Tamimu Issah, who presented the aforementioned amount to the club at their training base in Prampram ahead of their departure on Tuesday, 13th July 2021.
“His Excellency conveys his special message of goodwill to the entire team, and he urges you to go all out and make yourselves and the country proud in Cote D’Ivoire.” He said.
Hasaacas Ladies are set to represent the country in the Women’s Champions League’s first-ever edition after winning the Ghana Women’s Premier League.
The Ladies have been drawn against Nigeria’s Rivers Angels FC and Niger’s AS Police de Niamey in Group B of the WAFU Zone B qualifying series.
The first zonal qualifiers are scheduled between July 17 and 30 in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
The team hopes for more support to ensure succeess in the Women’s CAF Champions League competition.
