Chidinma quits secular music for gospel

Nigerian musician, Chidinma Ekile, has quit secular music to become a minister of the gospel.

The 2010 winner of Project Fame announced on her Instagram page.

The switch marks the singer’s 30th birthday.

“My name is Minister Chidinma Ekile. I’m a crusader of the gospel of Jesus Christ,” she wrote. While also thanking God for another year of life.

“I’m a crusader of the gospel of Jesus Christ,” she said. “Your future needs you, your past doesn’t. The devil knows your name, but he calls you by your sins. God knows your sins, but he calls you by your name”.

She said now, “the message is Jesus”.

“I will reign in life because the creator of the ends of the earth loves me,” She added.

She has also rebranded her Instagram page by deleting previous photos and albums associated with her past secular songs.

Chidinma won the hearts of many with her sonorous voice when she emerged winner of the music talent show ‘Project Fame’ in 2010.

She would later be known as Ms Kedike following her 2012 hit song ‘Kedike’ off her debut album ‘Chidinma’.
