The Prince (second right) was a keen polo player during his youth and became one of the top players in Britain. He is pictured here after a polo match in June 1950. Prince Philip presents the 1957 Wimbledon trophy to Lew Hoad after his victory over fellow Australian Ashley Cooper The England football team’s greatest moment came in 1966 when they beat West Germany 4-2 at Wembley to lift the World Cup. Prince Philip was there with the Queen as she presented the Jules Rimet Trophy to Bobby Moore. The Duke of Edinburgh represented Great Britain at carriage driving in six World and three European Championships. He is pictured here during the Royal Windsor Horse Show at Home Park, Windsor Castle in 2005.
