What Olympics coach Yaw Preko said after ‘Manste derby’ win over Hearts

The year’s first competitive clash between the two Accra based clubs, Hearts of Oak and Accra Great Olympics was staged on Saturday, 30 January 2021 for the week 11 ecounter of the ongoing Ghana Premier League.

The fierce encounter dubbed ‘Mantse derby’ was played at the Accra sports stadium, at stake was the maximum 3 points for the winning club and bragging rights for its fans.

Interim coach Olympics, Yaw Preko was full of praise his players after the game, their game plan had been well executed by the ‘Dade boys’.

”I am proud of the boys. You saw it, they gave everything. We planned for this game and everything that we put in place came to light,” the ex-international said in his post-match interview.

”The boys came to the party, we decided to hit them early and it worked so second half all we needed to do was just to be compact and defend the two goals and exactly our plan worked for us.”

The win means that Olympics move up to third on the log and Hearts drop to fourth.
