How social media reacted to Agyeman Badu retirement from international duty

A section of Ghanaians including former players and teammates of Ghanaian international, Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu, have paid glowing tributes to the Hellas Verona star after he announced his retirement from international duties.

Agyeman-Badu became a national hero after his penalty kick won Ghana the 2009 U-20 World Cup in Egypt.

The 30-year-old closes the door on his international career, 12 years after making his debut.

He represented Ghana in the 2014 world cup after missing the 2010 world cup narrowly because of injury.

Known for his bullet shots and rugged play in the midfield, Agyeman-Badu earned 78 caps in the Ghana jersey before hanging his international boots.

In a career plagued with injuries, he scored about 10 goals and represented the national team at multiple Africa Cup of NationsΒ (Afcon) tournaments
