NPP, NDC exchanged over 50 seats in 2020 polls

Both the New Patriotic Party and the National Democratic Congress have experienced a wave of political losses, even in their strongholds.

At least 54 constituencies changed lawmakers and flipped to either NPP or NDC except in one case of an independent candidate who went from being an NPP MP to an independent legislator.

Theghanareport.com brings you the roll call of the MPs caught in the political hurricane.

In the case of Hohoe for instance, the seat, which has been an NDC seat since 1992 was snatched by the NPP’s John Peter Amewu.

He won with more than 5,000-margin. Mr Amewu polled 26, 952 while the NDC candidate had 21, 821 votes.
