82-year-old Opanyin Adusei crowned 2025 Overall Best National Farmer

82-year-old Opanyin Abraham Kwaku Adusei from the Eastern Region, has been crowned the Overall Best National Farmer for 2025 during the 41st National Farmers’ Day Awards Ceremony held in Ho, the capital of the Volta Region.

Mr. Adusei, who triumphed among numerous esteemed farmers nationwide, was awarded a cash prize in acknowledgment of his years of commitment, innovation, and excellence in the field of agriculture.

The first runner-up was 48-year-old Osman Kadiri from the Greater Accra Region, while the second runner-up position was secured by 63-year-old Charles Gyato from the Oti Region.

Additionally, Madam Grace Owusuaah was recognised as the National Best Female Farmer for 2025.

All recipients were also awarded cash prizes for their remarkable contributions to Ghana’s agricultural industry.

The awards were conferred by President John Dramani Mahama, who praised the winners for their diligence, resilience, and dedication to national progress through agriculture.

Upon receiving his accolade, the Overall Best Farmer, Mr. Adusei, conveyed his deep gratitude for the recognition.

He committed to continuing his collaboration with the Ministry of Food and Agriculture to enhance the welfare of farmers and support initiatives aimed at modernising the agricultural sector.

The event served as a significant highlight of the National Farmers Day celebrations, which honour the essential role that farmers and fishers play in ensuring food security and propelling the nation’s economy.
