At least eight people have been confirmed dead and 14 others injured in an incident at Nkenkasu in the Ashanti Region.
The incident happened around 4:00 am on Wednesday, March 13, 2024.
It involved a commercial bus travelling from Garu to Accra and a truck transporting frozen chicken on the Offinso to Techiman road.
The victims are currently receiving medical care at the Nkensasu government hospital, Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, and Holy Family Hospital at Techiman.
The bodies of the deceased have also been deposited at the morgue for identification and preservation.
The police have commenced an investigation to establish the circumstances leading to the accident.
In a similar vein, two people have reportedly died at a spot close to the Oda River bridge near Esereso in the Bosomtwe District of the Ashanti Region.
A 50-year-old man identified as Charles, a resident of Esereso, was reported dead after he was knocked down by a hit-and-run driver at about 2 pm.
Two hours later, the driver of a KIA Rio salon car was pulled out unconscious after his car plunged into the Oda River.
Both incidents happened on Tuesday, March 12, 2024.
