75-year-old man butchered at Manso Deduako
Residents of Manso Deduako in the Amansie South District of the Ashanti Region have been left in a state of shock following the murder of a 75-year-old man, identified as Ibrahim Laah.
The unfortunate incident occurred on Tuesday, May 27, 2025.
The deceased, a father of three and a farmer, reportedly got into a misunderstanding with another individual, which escalated and resulted in his death as he was butchered by his opponent.
The Assembly Member for the Manso Deduako Electoral Area, Emmanuel Gyau, in an interview monitored by The Ghana Report, revealed that a suspect has been arrested in connection with the case.
“I reached out to the Chairman of that particular municipality immediately I heard the news, and alongside him, we went to the scene and found the old man lying down in his blood. During that time, we happened to hear the name of the suspect, and he has been apprehended by the police,” he said.
The body of the deceased has since been transported to Saint Martin’s Hospital at Agroyesum for autopsy.
The suspect has been arrested by the Manso Adubia Divisional Police Command, and he is currently assisting investigations.
This comes two days after a 40-year-old breastfeeding mother was brutally murdered at Awutu Beraku in the Awutu Senya West District of the Central Region.
The deceased, identified as Afia Koowah, reportedly left home in the afternoon of Sunday, May 25, 2025, to pick some firewood from a developing area of the community, according to her husband, Kofi Opare.
However, she failed to return home, causing her husband to become worried thereafter.
On the morning of Monday, May 26, a passerby heard the cry of her four-month-old baby and drew near only to uncover the motionless body of Afia, who had been missing since Sunday.
