A 55-year-old Police Chief Inspector has reportedly died from coronavirus in Koforidua in the Eastern Region.
The deceased, who was with the Central Police Station in Koforidua, is said to have died on Friday, May 29, 2020, after his health condition deteriorated.
The Deputy Eastern Regional Police PRO, Sergeant Francis Gomado, confirmed tragedy to theghanareport.com, and said the deceased had not been well since last year.
“What the doctors told us is that he had symptoms of COVID-19. So what we’re handling now is out of suspicions,” he said.
“Since they (doctors) said they suspect he had died from COVID-19, we insisted they begin testing all personnel and start contact tracing for persons who may have interacted with the officer.
