About five persons have been injured in a gory accident on the Ahodwo-Sokoban road in the Nhyiaeso constituency of the Ashanti region.
The accident, which involved two vehicles and a tricycle popularly known as ‘Pragyia’, occurred on Monday, April 15, around 10 AM.
According to eyewitnesses, one of the drivers was making a U-turn when a speeding Nissan commercial vehicle from Akropong towards Ahodwo crashed into it.
The Nissan also crashed into the Pragyia.
The eyewitness added that the unconscious Nissan driver was trapped with his hand chopped off.
He narrated that some bystanders rescued the driver, together with the passengers onboard.
He said the victims were rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) and other health facilities for treatment.
This is the second accident recorded in the Sokoban area within the past two weeks.
On March 29, 2024, two people died, with five others in critical condition after a tragic accident at Sokoban.
According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred when a mini commercial bus suffered a brake failure and rammed into another bus.

One of the deceased was a middle-aged woman who attempted to escape the accident by rushing out of the car.
The vehicle overturned and crushed her.
The other victim, a lady, was rushed to the hospital but was later proclaimed dead.
Five other passengers who were on board the vehicle were also rushed to the hospital after sustaining various degrees of injuries.
