The Asokwa Circuit Court in the Ashanti Region has sentenced four carjackers to 30 years imprisonment each.
They are Jeffrey Jomoh, Clifford Opoku, Prince Opuni and Kwabena Kyei Baffour.
In 2022, the carjackers robbed a resident of Kyirikrom of his car at gunpoint.
They also carried out a series of successful car snatching operations in the Kumasi metropolis before the Kyirikrom incident.
The police prosecutor, ASP Stephen Ofori, said one of the convicts, Kwabena Kyei Baffour was responsible for selling the stolen cars after every robbery.
“When they snatch the car, they hand it over to one of the accused persons who has also been convicted Kwabena Kyei Baffour who sells the car in Accra,” he said.
However, their luck ran out and they were arrested.
They were arraigned before the court in February 2023 and were charged with conspiracy to commit robbery, contrary to the law.
On August 28, the court presided over by His Worship Frederick Obikyere, found all four guilty of three robberies.
He then sentenced them to 120 years, each convict serving 30 years in prison.

Meanwhile, Kwabena Appiah, the victim whose vehicle was snatched in Kyirikrom, told reporters he was very satisfied with the outcome of the case.
Narrating his ordeal, he said the robbers attacked him on his way back from work.
He said they threatened to kill him if he refused to hand the car over to them.
Out of fear for his life, he said he allowed them to take the car.
“From there I filed a report to the police for them to commence investigation and finally processed them to court for this final ruling,” he said.
