Uwombornyi Bado, a 37-year-old man has been stabbed to death with a stick by a friend identfied as, Alhassan Merasa.
The unfortunate incident occurred at Zongo-Machire, a farming community near Chinderi, the district capital of Krachi Nchumuru of the Oti Region.
The victim was initially taken to a clinic in Chinderi and later referred to Kete-Krachi District Hospital, but he was pronounced dead on arrival.
It is reported that the deceased and the suspect were very close friends, though the cause of their disagreement remains sketchy.
The Assembly member of Donwieso West Electoral Area, John Mpoebi Nteleye confirmed that the incident was reported to the police, leading to the suspect’s arrest by officers at Chinderi Police Command.
The body of the deceased has been deposited at the Krachi West District morgue as police continue their investigation.
This comes barely two days after a shocking incident of mob justice resulted in the death of a motorcycle rider, known as Guy-man, in Kwame Kwei in the Awutu Senya West District of the Central region.
The victim, a farmer and “Okada” rider from Awutu Bontrase, was accused of stealing a goat and subsequently set ablaze along with his motorbike on Wednesday, September 4, 2024.
Police sources confirm that the suspect was lynched by an angry mob, who took the law into their own hands.
The Awutu Bontrase Police have retrieved the body and deposited it at the mortuary, pending further investigations.
No arrests have been made yet, as the police continue to probe the circumstances surrounding the incident.
