A devastating accident occurred at Buduatta Junction on the Kasoa-Cape Coast Highway in the Central Region yesterday(August 15), leaving a driver and two passengers with serious injuries.
The collision involved a tipper truck with registration number GE 8814-21, and an articulated truck with registration number GM 2314-21.
Information gathered indicates that the tipper truck was travelling towards Accra when it collided with the articulated truck, which was headed towards Takoradi.
According to the articulated truck driver, Daniel Addai, the tipper truck driver appeared to be asleep behind the wheel and drifted into his lane, causing the accident.
Despite efforts to avoid the collision, the heavy load in Addai’s truck made it impossible to prevent.
The injured individuals have been rushed to the St. Gregory Hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, Ebo Anderson, a member of the emergency response team at Gomoa Potsin, who assisted in the rescue efforts, urged drivers to exercise caution and avoid reckless driving to prevent such accidents.
