This incident comes after a gory collision between a taxi and a trailer on the Techiman-Kintampo highway resulted in the deaths of two individuals, a taxi driver and his regular passenger.

The accident occurred on Thursday, September 5, 2024, between Amoma Nkwanta and Pramposo, when the taxi, travelling from Techiman to Kintampo, attempted to give way to the trailer due to poor road conditions.

According to eyewitnesses, a construction tipper truck failed to slow down, striking the taxi from behind and forcing it into the oncoming trailer.

The impact was severe, causing the deaths of the driver, known as Ogyam, and his female passenger.

Their bodies were severely damaged, making identification challenging.

The rescue operation, involving the Fire Service, Police, and road safety officials, took over two hours to complete. Tragically, another trailer crashed into a vehicle during the operation, injuring several passengers.

DO III Asah Manu, an officer from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), confirmed the incident.
