23-year-old student shot dead by gunmen
A 23-year-old student of Oyoko School of Dispensing Optics, Kwabena Asumadu, has been shot dead by unknown gunmen in the Ashanti Region.
He was shot in his car on Tuesday evening.
According to eyewitness, the incident happened soon after Asumadu had dropped off his friends at Sofoline around 11 pm.
The deceased, who was driving an unregistered Mercedes-Benz was shot multiple times by his assailants through the driver’s side.
According to the police report, Asumadu sustained gunshot wounds to his neck and head but nothing was stolen from the car. Friends of the deceased who stormed the Suntreso district police command have yet to accept the young man’s death.
Addai Derick, a friend of the deceased said “Kwabena was a calm and reliable friend. He didn’t have qualms with anyone because he is someone who immediately apologizes to people he offends. We just can’t understand why someone will do something like this to him. We are pained but God knows best”, 3news reported
The body of Kwabena has been deposited at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital morgue for autopsy and police have begun preliminary investigations.
