“To increase the competitiveness of the league, the Ghana Football Association will reward from the first to the 10th place in the 2023/24 betPawa Premier League,” he said.
The GFA has over the years received criticism on the prize money from the football community with the recent being the last season when reigning champions, Medeama Sporting Club were awarded GH¢300,000 which was a slight increment of what Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko had received in 2020/21 and 2021/22 season respectively.
Both teams received a cash prize of GH¢250,000 for winning the league which people felt the amount was too small and was not befitting of the best team in Ghana.
