The Black Queens of Ghana will face either Rwanda or Egypt in the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifiers.
Led by coach Nora Hauptle, the team aims to secure consecutive qualifications after already booking a spot in next year’s tournament.
A total of 38 African nations will compete for 12 spots in the final tournament, with host nation Morocco receiving an automatic qualification. Morocco will host the premier women’s football competition for the third consecutive time.
Ghana, along with five other high-ranking teams – South Africa, Zambia, Côte d’Ivoire, Nigeria, and Cameroon – received a bye in the first round. The Black Queens will begin their campaign in the second round against the winner of the Rwanda-Egypt match.
The qualification process consists of two rounds of home-and-away fixtures, with the first round scheduled for February 17-26, 2025, and the second round set for October 20-28, 2025.
