2024 WAFU B U17: Laryea Kingston announces Black Starlets final squad
Black Starlets coach Laryea Kingston has made his squad selection for the upcoming WAFU Zone B U-17 Cup of Nations in Accra 2024.
The Ghanaian team is gearing up to secure a spot in the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations for the first time in seven years, following their absence from the tournament since 2017.
In preparation for the tournament, the Black Starlets have been undergoing rigorous training at the Ghanaman Centre of Excellence in Prampram.
The team has been actively engaging in a series of friendlies against lower-tier sides and recently participated in the UEFA U-16 Invitational tournament in Volgograd, Russia.
During the tournament, they suffered a defeat against Russia but secured victories against Serbia and Kazakhstan.
Ghana’s opening Group A game is scheduled against Cote D’Ivoire on Wednesday, May 15, with their second Group game against Benin set for Tuesday, May 21, 2024.
The WAFU Zone B U-17 Cup of Nations is slated to take place at the University of Ghana stadium from May 15 to May 28, 2024.
The team is looking to make a strong showing in the tournament and secure their place in the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations.
