2024 U-20 Women’s World Cup: Black Princesses to get journey underway today
The Black Princesses of Ghana will begin the 2024 U-20 Women’s World Cup campaign today, September 2 in Colombia.
Yusif Basigi and his side are making their sixth consecutive appearance at the Mundial.
Despite their consistent appearances, the team has failed to qualify from the group stage of the tournament.
Housed in Group E, the Black Princesses will clash with Austria in their opener at the Estadio Metropolitano de Techo with kick-off scheduled at 22:00GMT before taking on Japan and New Zealand.
The team will be aiming to play in the Round of 16 for the first time.
Before their arrival in Bogota, the team opened camp in Cape Coast and trained for more than a month before moving to Accra where they played a friendly and recorded a 3-1.
After touching down in Colombia, the team played a goalless game with Mexico before a 2-2 drawn game against South Korea in their final preparatory game.
