The 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season is uncertain due to venue approval issues, with only four venues approved so far.
The Ghana Football Association received proposals from all 18 Premier League clubs for their match venues.
So far, the Club Licensing Department of the FA has given the green light to these four venues for the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season, following a preliminary inspection a few weeks ago.
The approved stadiums are the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex, Nsenkyire Sports Arena, Dun’s Park, and WAFA Park, which met all necessary infrastructure standards.
Notably, the newly opened $16 million TNA Stadium, with a 13,000-seat capacity, is still awaiting full approval due to the absence of an inner perimeter, a required feature for accreditation.
Similarly, the country’s two largest stadiums, Baba Yara Stadium and Accra Sports Stadium, are on a conditional approval list.
Venues that fell short of the standards have received a report outlining the necessary improvements.
A re-inspection of Ghana Premier League venues is scheduled for August 30, 2024, to address any existing issues and potentially grant full approval for the upcoming season, which is set to kick off on September 6, 2024.
