2024/25 Ghana Premier League to go on break for General Elections
The 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season will take a brief break to accommodate the national elections slated for December 7, 2024.
According to the Ghana Football Association (GFA), the Premier League will be paused following matchday 12 games, concluding on November 25, 2024.
The Premier League will however resume on December 13, 2024.
The break ensures players and officials exercise their civic duties in electing a new president and parliamentarians ahead of the polls.
Apart from the break for the general elections, the Ghana FA has also confirmed that there would be midweek fixtures.
The midweek slot has been reserved for clubs participating in the CAF inter-club competitions.
Meanwhile, the season has been scheduled to kick off on Friday, September 6, 2024, at the various venues and will be concluded on Sunday, June 8, 2025.
