2023 Africa Cup of Nations Tournament: Ghana to know group opponents today
The Black Stars of Ghana will know their group and opponents for the group stage at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament later today, October 12.
This will be after CAF concludes the draw for the upcoming tournament in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
Ahead of the draw, Ghana has been placed in Pot 2.
The Pot has Nigeria, Cameroon, Mali, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Burkina Faso.
The 24 countries set to compete at the 2023 AFCON include Cote d’Ivoire (hosts), Algeria, Angola, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Congo DR, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, The Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, and Mauritania.
The others are Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, Tunisia and Zambia.
The Black Stars as part of preparations for the 2023 AFCON will play friendly games against Mexico and USA in the October international break.
The first match against Mexico is scheduled to be staged at the Bank of America Stadium on Saturday, October 14.
