2023 AFCON Qualifiers: Hamburg congratulate Ransford Konigsdorffer on Black Stars call-up

German Bundesliga 2 side Hamburger SV have congratulated attacker Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer on his call-up to the Black Stars squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying games against Angola.

Ghana’s coach Chris Hughton named the 21-year-old forward in his first Black Stars squad for the assignments later this month in Kumasi and Luanda.

Königsdörffer missed out on Ghana’s squad for the 2022 Qatar World Cup just months after switching nationality from Germany.

However, his impressive campaign in the Bundesliga 2 has seen him earn a place in the squad for the Angola doubleheader.

The club took to Twitter to congratulate the player on his invite.

“Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer was nominated again for the Ghana Black Stars. The team will play two qualifiers for the Africa Cup of Nations 2023 at the end of March. Congratulations, Ransi.”

Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer has scored 7 goals n 21 league games for Hamburger in the German second-tier competition this season.
