Head coach of the Black Stars, Chris Hughton has named a 25-man squad for the game between Ghana and the Central African Republic.

Pitted in Group E, both Ghana and Central African Republic will be looking for a win next week to secure qualification for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

The match is scheduled to be played on Thursday, September 7 inside the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi at 16:00 GMT.

Although some regular national team players have suffered injuries, coach Hughton has managed to assemble a strong squad for the crucial encounter.

PAOK defender, Baba Rahman, Orlando Pirates Goalkeeper, Richard Ofori and Auxerre midfielder, Elisha Owusu all make a return to the team, after recovering from injuries.

Medeama SC striker Jonathan Sowah receives his first national team call-up, as coach Hughton decided to reward him for his outstanding performances for the Yellow and Mauves en route to their Ghana Premier League title triumph last season.
