2020/21 Ghana Premier League: Olympics, Hearts, Kotoko to compete for top spot
Accra Great Olympics will be hoping to extend their lead on the league when the games resume this weekend. But they will face stiff competition from Karela United, Asante Kotoko, and Hearts of Oak all of whom are right behind the Dade Boys.
The Top Four places on the league log are keenly contested with just three points separating league leaders Olympics and fourth-placed Hearts of Oak.
Olympics could lose their position on top of the league table if they lose against Legon Cities in this matchday 19 fixture at the Accra Sports Stadium.
For Legon Cities, they will be hoping to bounce back from last weekend’s defeat against Berekum Chelsea at the Nana Agyeman Badu.
The Royals are currently in the bottom half of the table and a win could see them move out of the relegation zone.
Meanwhile, Hearts of Oak travel away to play AshantiGold at the Len Clay Sports Stadium in Obuasi.
The Phobians are unbeaten since February since losing against Medeama under former coach Kosta Papic.
Samuel Boadu has enjoyed two consecutive wins during his spell as head coach and will be eyeing another win against the Miners.
Hearts may face stiff competition from AshGold currently headed by French coach Romain Folz.
The Miners held Karela United to a 1-1 draw in Ayinese, a result which will boost the confidence of the team ahead of this game.
Folz will be in search of his first win as head coach of the club.
Elsewhere Asante Kotoko host Berekum Chelsea at the Obuasi Len Clay Sports Stadium in this matchday 19 fixture.
Kotoko defeated Bechem United in mid-week with Fabio Gama, Michael Vinicius, Abdul Ganiu, and Andy Kumi on the scoresheet.
