Two men have been lynched for allegedly stealing a mobile phone at Beaho in the Ahanta West Municipal District of the Western Region.

The two are reported to be among a three-man syndicate that stole a smartphone at about 8:00 am on Sunday.

Not long after stealing the phone the victim noticed his phone was missing.

Upon confrontation, the suspect attempted to flee the scene.

However, two of the suspects were quickly apprehended by some angry youth and were subjected to hours-long torture and pelted with stones until they died.

Assemblymember of the Beaho electoral area, Kenneth Obeng, confirmed the news to the media.

The third suspect was subsequently caught and one of his hands was amputated by the youth.

He, however, managed to flee with his bloody hand.

It is reported that the area is a crime-prone area, hence there is no mercy for any criminal when caught.

The accused was, therefore, remanded, and the case adjourned to May 15, 2023, for his plea to be taken.
