A 17-year-old female Senior High School(SHS) student has allegedly been murdered at Wenchi in Bono Region.
The deceased, identified as Aisha Seidu, a second-year student of Islamic SHS in Kumasi was reportedly killed by unknown assailants a day after she returned to Wenchi Zongo for holidays.
According to her family, she was discovered in a pool of blood on Tuesday, February 21, 2023.
The family suspected she was raped as their initial assessment revealed she was bleeding from her genitalia.
They contacted the Wenchi Municipal Police Command who rushed her to the hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Some fear-stricken residents who spoke to journalists at the scene were of the view that she was clubbed to death by a suspected rapist.
They believed it was a planned attack and therefore called on their leaders and the police to bring all those involved to justice.
Meanwhile, the Wenchi Municipal Police Command has since begun investigations into the circumstances that led to her death.
