Fifteen passengers have sustained various degrees of injury after a Metro Mass bus collided with an articulated truck on the Kasoa-Cape Coast Highway.
Several others also suffered minor injuries during the accident.
The bus with registration number GT 5392-19 crashed with the cargo truck loaded with onions at the Gomoa Potsin section of the road.
Due to the force of the collision, both vehicles were severely damaged, leading to the severe injuries the passengers suffered.
The injured were rushed to nearby medical facilities for immediate treatment after emergency services were dispatched.
Meanwhile, authorities have begun investigations to determine the cause of the accident and to determine who is to blame.
Several accidents have occurred on the Kasoa stretch in recent months.
In April 2023, an STC bus with registration number GT-1079-20 carrying Senior High School (SHS) students from Kasoa to Cape Coast crashed at Gomoa Buduatta.
It was reported that the bus driver lost control of the steering and collided with a speeding tipper truck from Winneba, somersaulting in the process.
Six people, including the bus driver, suffered severe injuries, whilst some students sustained minor injuries.
