A tragic car accident on Sunday, September 1, 2024, claimed the life of one person and left another severely injured at Atwima Denkyemuoso in the Ashanti Region.
The accident happened around 10:00 pm.
According to eyewitnesses, a KIA Pride with registration number GS-3310-19 lost control while travelling from Atwima Takyiman to Kwadaso, crashing into a crowd that had gathered.
The Assembly Member for Atwima Takyiman/Denkyemuoso Electoral Area, David Asare, confirmed the incident, reporting that 42-year-old Kwaku Adutwum, popularly known as Boutique, died on arrival at the hospital.
Another victim, 30-year-old Tico, survived but suffered severe injuries to both legs.
The police have arrested the driver involved in the accident and he is assisting with investigations.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, with residents expressing their condolences to the families of the victims.
